Principal Asset Management (Principal AM) offers investment advice to both institutional investors and individuals, managing investments with or without discretion. Principal AM has various investment teams specializing in equities, fixed income, real estate, listed infrastructure, alternative investments, and asset allocation. Principal AM also manages funds and may hire other advisors as sub-advisors. Clients can access Principal AM's services directly or indirectly through Principal Funds or other commingled vehicles. Principal AM also provides asset allocation advice to retirement plans funded with annuity contracts.
Principal AM's fees are generally based on a percentage of the value of the assets they manage or a fixed fee. Fees can vary and may be negotiable depending on factors like the client's relationship with Principal AM, the number of accounts managed, the size of the account, and the services provided. Fees and allocations can be fixed, fixed plus performance-based, or performance-based only. Certain fixed fees are required to be paid up front.
