Why We Built This

A passion project to make finding a financial advisor actually transparent.

We built TrueAdvisor because we believe choosing a financial advisor should be transparent and straightforward. The SEC requires advisors to file detailed disclosures through Form ADV, but this valuable data has traditionally been buried in lengthy PDFs and scattered across government databases. We've made it searchable and accessible.

Built for you, not financial advisors. No advisor can pay to be listed or to get preferential treatment. We believe everyone deserves easy access to all public information so they can find the advisor that is right for them.

What You Can Do Here

Know the Actual Fees

See what advisors actually charge—whether it's a percentage of assets for investment management or a fixed fee for financial planning.

Search & Filter

Find advisors by location, total estimated fee, minimum investment, specialties, firm size, existing client count, and more.

Spot Red Flags

See if an advisor earns commissions, has disciplinary disclosures, or is a dual-registered broker or insurance salesperson—before you sit down with them.

See Growth Trends

Track how firms have grown over time—total assets, number of clients, and average portfolio size.

Where does this data come from?

Information comes directly from official SEC filings—Form ADV submissions that advisors are legally required to file. We've made it searchable and easy to use. No editorializing, no rankings based on who pays more. Just the facts.
