Obsidian CIO offers investment advisory services to other registered investment advisors, providing both discretionary and non-discretionary investment sub-advisory services. Obsidian CIO manages investments through its managed model program and investment platform, using stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, and fixed-income securities. Obsidian CIO also consults with advisors on trading strategy, rebalancing, and tax optimization. Obsidian CIO does not interact directly with the end client, but manages assets based on guidance from the advisor.
Obsidian CIO provides investment management services to other advisors, who then allocate their clients' assets. The fee for these services, called a Program Fee, is negotiable, but no more than 1% annually, assessed against the advisor's client assets allocated to Obsidian CIO. This Program Fee includes an investment management fee of 0.20% to 0.45% annually. There is also a reporting and administrative fee to cover platform reporting costs, which is currently less than $75 per account.
