Additional Information

After a successful engineering career and successful implementation of a self-performed investment plan, I embraced the Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) movement. “Retirement” or transitioning out of the career you have built over decades is a significant life event, particularly when it occurs prior to normal retirement age. Therefore, I sought guidance to ensure that my financial picture was in order and that I was on the best path toward achieving established goals and maintaining lifestyle. Like many others, I struggled to find advice that encompassed the comprehensive picture or advice that was not predicated upon the advisor earning commissions off products that they sold. The most common deficiency I ran into was that planning did not adequately consider the impact of taxes, which play a role in most every financial decision and have a significant impact on long-term wealth accumulation.
