After more than two decades of working for companies like Smith Barney, Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch, and a couple of fiduciary Registered Investment Advisory firms it was time for a change. At this point in my career, I had expected to see more women in positions of ownership and wielding real decision-making power. Rather than idly hope for any potential evolution in the field of finance, I decided it was time to create a revolution. One that provides an inclusive, educational, and welcoming space for sharing and growth. Investing for impact is also a top priority. Supporting no-kill animal shelters, protecting our oceans and sea life, making small, daily decisions to lower my carbon footprint, and directing my dollars to like-minded businesses are a few ways I strive to make positive changes. Creating a mentoring program for young women in finance is on the horizon too. I envision a Martos Wealth platform designed just for them.
